Top Rabbi Condemns Harassment of Fellow Rabbi

Rabbi Moshe Hillel Hirsch, a prominent Rosh Yeshiva (head of a religious seminary), has sent a letter of support to Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Feivelzon, head of the P'tei Olam Yeshiva, condemning recent violent harassment and disruptions targeting Feivelzon's lectures.

Rabbi Hirsch sharply criticized the actions, stating they are "not the way of Torah" and cause desecration of God's name. The letter follows a recent phone conversation between Hirsch and Feivelzon's wife during the mourning period for their daughter. In that call, she had requested Hirsch's intervention against those she claimed were slandering and persecuting her husband.

Hirsch expressed his sorrow over the situation during the call and pledged to address the matter. His written letter reiterates this stance, describing the harassment as occurring "under the guise of false zealotry."

In recent months, Feivelzon has faced several serious incidents of attempted disruption to his classes, with some occasions escalating to personal affronts. During his period of mourning, Feivelzon also received messages of support from other prominent rabbis, including Rabbi Boruch Dov Povarsky and Rabbi Uri Weissblum, and was visited by heads of the Ponevezh Yeshiva.

Hirsch's letter offers strong encouragement for Feivelzon to continue his Torah teachings peacefully and without interruption, wishing him the ability to "devote himself to Torah and service in quiet and tranquility, and to continue teaching Torah and knowledge to his students, drawing them closer to their Father in Heaven."
