Former Israeli PM Bennett Urges UN Declaration of Qatar as Enemy State

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has called on current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to declare Qatar an enemy state during his upcoming address at the UN General Assembly. Bennett announced he would present a "Qatar dossier" to the UN Secretary-General and Security Council ambassadors, which he claims contains comprehensive evidence of Qatar's direct involvement in the October 7th massacre. Bennett stated that this is an opportunity to achieve historical justice for the victims and heroic soldiers.

Bennett asserted that Qatar funded the massacre and Hamas's military wing, celebrated the attacks, and continues to spread antisemitic propaganda globally, including in US universities. He also highlighted Qatar's hosting of Hamas leadership, its funding of extremist Islamic terrorism, and its actions aimed at erasing Israel. Bennett expressed confidence that both the coalition and opposition in Israel would support such a declaration.

According to the former prime minister, the "Qatar dossier" demonstrates that dismantling Hamas rule in Gaza is contingent on Qatar's removal from the regional arena. Bennett criticized Israel's failure to achieve the crucial war aim of eliminating Hamas, stating that every moment Qatar is not declared an enemy state, continues to control Gaza, and allows Hamas to arm, recruit, and train for future attacks, constitutes a severe failure. He emphasized that Netanyahu's UN speech will be judged not by grand statements but by an explicit declaration against Qatar, warning that failure to do so would legitimize Qatar and harm Israeli national security.
