Israeli Tech Funding Surges 53% to $3.6 Billion in Q3
Israeli technology companies raised $3.6 billion across 91 funding rounds in the third quarter of the year, marking a 53% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to preliminary data from IVC and LeumiTech's quarterly report. Cybersecurity remained the dominant sector, attracting $1.7 billion, or 47.2% of total funding in Q3, and $4.3 billion year-to-date. Enterprise software companies secured $1.1 billion in Q3, representing 30% of all funding and a record high since 2020. Conversely, funding for defense-tech, space, and quantum companies saw a decline, totaling $170 million in Q3, a significant drop from the $800 million raised in the first half of the year. Overall, Israeli companies have raised $11 billion since the start of 2026, a 50% rise year-over-year. Foreign venture capital funds accounted for 70% of the total investments, with 110 foreign and 60 new Israeli funds making their first investment in Israel during the third quarter. Mid-stage companies received $1.8 billion (55% of total funds), while early-stage companies raised approximately $1 billion, similar to the previous year. Late-stage companies raised only $840 million. The Q3 funding volume represents a 7% decrease in the quarterly average from the first half of the year, attributed to seasonal fluctuations during the holiday period. IVC estimates that once all disclosed rounds are accounted for, Q3 funding will reach $4.3 billion across 225 rounds, a 2% decrease from the first-half quarterly average. Maya Eisen-Tzafrir, CEO of LeumiTech, noted that while the growth trend is healthy, it's uneven, with a significant portion of capital concentrated in a few companies, stages, and sectors, posing a challenge for Israeli firms. Guy Holtzman, Chairman and CEO of IVC, described Q3 as challenging due to summer holidays, festivals, and international capital market uncertainty, but highlighted continued capital growth, an increase in new companies, stable foreign investor presence, and emerging industrial sectors as opportunities for stable growth.
