Slain Father Saved Son in Attack, Daughter Recounts

Natanel Shkaron, a father of six, was killed in a terrorist attack that occurred on the eve of Yom Kippur. Hundreds attended his funeral, where his 14-year-old daughter, Talia, delivered a tearful eulogy. She spoke of his teachings and their shared traditions, particularly during prayer services. "Thank you for raising me for 14 years, I was privileged to learn so much from you," she said.

During the attack, Natanel displayed extraordinary courage and presence of mind, saving the life of his 16-year-old son, Yoav, who was with him. In a television interview, Talia recounted the dramatic events, detailing how her father acted in the critical moments to ensure his son's escape from immediate mortal danger.

She described her father as an "amazing person, a family man, the best father in the world," expressing the profound void left by his death. Despite the pain and grief, Talia spoke with remarkable composure about the family's mourning during the seven-day Shiva period.

Concluding her remarks, she expressed faith and confidence in the family's continuity. "I feel like Dad is watching over us, and I believe Dad in heaven is watching over and protecting me," she stated, adding, "I now have two fathers in heaven."
