Clal Insurance Negotiates Major Investment in Value Base
Clal Insurance and Finance Group is in advanced negotiations to acquire a significant stake in Value Base Group, an Israeli investment banking firm. The proposed deal would see Clal Insurance invest in Value Base at a company valuation of approximately NIS 600 million before capital injection. This investment, to be made through the issuance of new shares, is expected to result in Clal Insurance holding between 18% and 20% of Value Base's shares.
Upon completion, Clal Insurance will become a substantial shareholder alongside existing investors, including the group's founders Victor Shamrich and Ido Neuberger, Meitav Investment House, and Wertheim Holdings. The board of Clal has approved proceeding with negotiations based on commercial understandings. Yoram Naveh, CEO of Clal Insurance, expressed enthusiasm about joining Value Base as a shareholder, highlighting the firm's significant role in the Israeli capital market and Clal's potential to contribute expertise, experience, and international connections to accelerate Value Base's growth.
Value Base founders Victor Shamrich and Ido Neuberger welcomed the potential investment, viewing it as a significant vote of confidence that will enable the acceleration of their growth strategy. Value Base is recognized as a leading investment bank in Israel, specializing in initiating and enhancing investments in public and private companies, managing capital and debt raises, mergers and acquisitions, and representing international investment entities.
