Stylist Turns Snub into Lucrative Ad Campaign
Israeli stylist and influencer Or Luzon has turned a public snub into a significant financial opportunity, starring in a new Sukkot holiday advertising campaign for the "Arak Noah" brand. The campaign, valued at approximately 400,000 shekels, directly references the controversy surrounding her exclusion from singer Omer Adam's recent wedding.
Luzon herself reportedly earned around 250,000 shekels for her participation in the advertisement. The commercial features comedian Zion Baruch, a close friend of Adam's, and his wife Yana Yosef. In the ad, Luzon arrives unannounced at Baruch's Sukkah (a temporary hut used during the Sukkot festival), questioning her invitation. Baruch's evasive responses lead to Luzon's punchline: "To cancel, you first have to invite."
The creative concept, developed by Baruch and Amri Ben Ezra with influencer marketing by Impact Digital, showcases sharp self-awareness. The choice of Baruch is strategic, as he was among the few friends who attended Adam's wedding in Italy with his partner Sasha Israelovitch.
According to a production source, Baruch broadly informed Adam about the campaign idea but did not disclose the specific details. The controversy erupted when Luzon, who had styled Adam for nearly a decade, was notably absent from the exclusive guest list for his wedding in Portofino, Italy. This incident led to a complete professional and personal break between the two.
Luzon's new campaign demonstrates her ability to leverage a public slight into a successful sales promotion, showcasing sharp self-deprecating humor and significant financial gain.
