Gal Gadot Donates $3 Million Prize to Israeli War Relief Organizations

Israeli actress Gal Gadot has announced a significant philanthropic initiative, dedicating her Genesis Prize winnings and additional funds to support organizations aiding those affected by the ongoing conflict. Gadot, who was awarded the 2026 Genesis Prize, often referred to as the 'Jewish Nobel,' will be donating the prize money, totaling $3 million, to 27 non-profit organizations across Israel.

Initially, Gadot pledged her $1 million prize to organizations focused on rebuilding Israeli society. Inspired by her commitment, the Jewish donor network contributed an additional $2 million, bringing the total donation to $3 million. The funds will be allocated to mental health and trauma treatment professionals, as well as groups assisting families and communities impacted by the war and the October 7th events.

Gadot stated, "After three years of war, loss, and unprecedented hardship, I chose to dedicate the prize grants to the therapists and medical teams who help rebuild lives daily and stand by those in their most vulnerable moments." She emphasized the importance of mutual care and solidarity as the path forward, values deeply connected to her Jewish heritage and collective responsibility. "By strengthening those who care for others, we can help heal families and communities, reconnect them, and build a stable and shared future," she added.

The selection process, which spanned two months, involved reviewing 150 applications, ultimately choosing 27 organizations operating nationwide. Among the recipients are Make-A-Wish Israel and United Hatzalah. This initiative comes in the wake of a 2025 State Comptroller's report indicating that 34% of Israel's adult population experiences moderate to severe post-traumatic stress symptoms.
