Sukkah Collapses From Balcony in Jerusalem, Narrowly Missing Pedestrian

A sukkah erected on a balcony in Jerusalem's Sha'arei Hesed neighborhood dramatically collapsed and fell into the street earlier this week, narrowly missing a pedestrian. The incident occurred on the eve of Yom Kippur during strong winds that tore the sukkah from its moorings on a residential building.

Dramatic security camera footage captured the moment the sukkah detached and plummeted towards the sidewalk. A pedestrian walking on the street was seen noticing the falling debris and fleeing just seconds before the structure crashed precisely where he had been walking.

Residents described hearing a tremendous crash as the sukkah disintegrated in the air and was carried down by the wind like a giant kite. They credited divine providence and a clear miracle for the pedestrian's escape, noting that no one was injured in the incident.
