An unusual confrontation aboard a northbound train ended with a woman spitting on three soldiers after telling them to stop talking, cursing them, humiliating them, and threatening them. One of the soldiers filed a complaint, and her mother later published video of the incident on Facebook.
According to the video, the woman sat next to the soldiers and kept shouting at them. She called one of them “crazy,” warned, “Want me to hit you? ... If you come here again you will get hit,” and told her, “You need to suffer.” When one of the soldiers asked whether she was well, the woman stood up and spat on the group in front of other passengers.
The soldier who filmed the episode, identified as A’, said she recorded the entire incident as the woman continued to yell, threaten, and hurl insults. In the clip, one soldier answers back that she will come there “as much as I want, in front of your eyes.” A’ said, “My friend took the full spit. We were in complete shock.” She also said people nearby came to help and a train security guard heard what was happening and moved the woman to a rear bench.
The mother of A’, who said the footage reached her, wrote in a furious Facebook post over the weekend that the soldiers had not received the basic respect owed to those who serve. She said the woman launched a verbal attack, incited against them, and spat at them, adding that this was not freedom of speech or a political argument but “a humiliating and violent act.” The mother called on the authorities to act quickly and said soldiers in uniform should not fear humiliation or violence on the way to or from base. She concluded, “Whoever spits on IDF soldiers spits on all of us.”
