UK Prime Minister States Oct 7 Attacks Don't Justify Israeli Actions
British Prime Minister Andy Burnham addressed the UN General Assembly, unequivocally condemning the Hamas attacks of October 7th as "absolutely horrific." He affirmed Britain's solidarity with Israel and Jewish communities against threats from Iran.
However, Burnham stated that the October 7th attacks "do not justify the actions of the Israeli government in Gaza or the West Bank." He expressed concern over the high number of casualties, including many children, and asserted that insufficient humanitarian aid is entering the Gaza Strip.
Burnham concluded by declaring that Britain "will not stand by while suffering continues and the prospect of a two-state solution is under threat."
