Netanyahu's attendance at the event, which drew over 100,000 people, necessitated an unusual security deployment involving hundreds of police officers, generators, barriers, and covered walkways. Sterile corridors were established for the Prime Minister's movement, and special protective measures, including armored glass and electronic warfare equipment to counter drone threats, were implemented. Special forces were stationed at the Western Wall plaza to prevent potential drone attacks on the Prime Minister. Sources described the security operation as akin to a "small military operation" due to its complexity. This visit was noted as unusual for Netanyahu on Yom Kippur eve, with photos later distributed by the Likud party spokesperson. Both the Shin Bet and the Prime Minister's Office declined to comment on the report. The revelation of the Western Wall visit's security costs follows recent reports on Netanyahu's travel expenses to the United States in 2025, based on Prime Minister's Office data provided to the "Tzlal" organization. Those reports detailed hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on flights, hotels, and related expenses, including a $423,407 flight cost for a Florida visit and a $10,000 per night suite, and a $359,281 flight cost for a Washington and New York trip with a $6,000 per night suite.
