Givat Shmuel Honors Terror Victim Barak Lufan with Sports Garden Memorial

The Givat Shmuel municipality held a moving ceremony to unveil a memorial stone and plaque honoring Barak Lufan, a resident murdered in the Dizengoff Street terror attack in Tel Aviv in April 2022. The memorial is located in the Ramat Ilan neighborhood's sports garden, near where Lufan lived with his wife Dana and children. This location was chosen to connect his home community with the world of sports, a central part of his life. Lufan was a distinguished athlete, an Olympic kayaker, and a mentor to many athletes, as well as a devoted family man and beloved community figure.

The event was attended by Mayor Yossi Brodny, Lufan's widow Dana and family members, city council members, and numerous residents. Mayor Brodny expressed support for the family and pledged the municipality's commitment to preserving Lufan's legacy within the city's memory.
