Israeli Police Conclude Murder Probe of Janis Yushvaev

Israeli police have concluded their investigation into the August 23 murder of 40-year-old Janis Yushvaev from Or Akiva, who was shot and killed outside a restaurant near Caesarea. Yushvaev sustained fatal injuries as he exited a building and the shooter fled the scene. He was transported to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Two days after the incident, special forces arrested Doron Waitzman, 54, in Hadera on suspicion of carrying out the shooting. Waitzman denies any involvement. The prosecution is preparing to indict him in the Haifa District Court.

Investigators believe a group of individuals may have been involved in the murder, possibly motivated by Yushvaev's business dealings or personal conflicts. Police are examining the theory that several adversaries of Yushvaev may have collaborated to eliminate him. Among those detained is the 23-year-old son of one of Yushvaev's competitors, whose DNA was found in the vehicle of the alleged perpetrators. Another suspect reportedly met with Yushvaev shortly before the shooting, then fled to Tel Aviv. A third theory under consideration is a significant debt owed by an acquaintance to the deceased.

Previously, Yushvaev was identified by police as a leader within a criminal organization operating in the Hadera and HaSharon regions. The victim's lawyer, however, maintained that Yushvaev conducted a legitimate business. The ongoing investigation aims to identify all individuals responsible for orchestrating the crime.
