Israeli Stocks Mixed Post-Yom Kippur, Tech Leads Gains
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange reopened for trading on Sunday, following the Yom Kippur holiday. The market saw a mixed performance among major indices, with technology stocks driving the gains, influenced by strong results in the U.S. tech sector the previous day. The TA-35 index rose by 0.41%, and the TA-125 index increased by 0.21%.
Among the top performers on the TA-125, NICE surged by 9.17%, reaching a closing price of 35,710 agorot. Tower Semiconductor saw an 8.83% increase, closing at 70,470 agorot. Other notable gainers included Opko Health, up 5.70%, Ayalon, up 5.16%, and Scopus, which added 5.01%.
Conversely, Tamar Petroleum experienced a decline of 4.76%. Veridis lost 4.75%, Fresco fell by 4.61%, More Investments weakened by 4.22%, and Energean dropped 4.11%.
Wall Street trading was mixed, following a strong day for the S&P 500. The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded lower, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq showed slight gains. Oil prices continued their downward trend for the fourth consecutive day.
The domestic bond market remained relatively stable, with slight increases in the Tel-Gov General and Tel-Gov Shekel indices. Trading volume in the stock market totaled approximately 4.3 billion shekels, with bond market turnover around 4.6 billion shekels and Treasury bills at about 1.4 billion shekels.
