Israeli Soccer Agent Discusses Player Transfers Amidst European Challenges

Soccer agent Idan Ben Abu stated that the "Israeli celebration" in Major League Soccer (MLS) is nearing its end, citing increased difficulty in marketing Israeli players to European clubs. Ben Abu explained that since October 7th, few Israeli players have moved to Europe, with the exception of those heading to MLS. He noted that MLS's schedule change next year, aligning with European seasons, will make it harder for Israeli players to find opportunities there.

Ben Abu also addressed the return of Gabi Kanyevsky to Maccabi Tel Aviv, stating it was Kanyevsky's decision based on his personal assessment and that both the player and the club are satisfied. Regarding Mohamed Abu Fani, Ben Abu clarified that there were no club discussions about his release and that the player has met expectations despite Ferencváros's Champions League qualifying exit.

Discussing Dor Turgeman's move to the New England Revolution, Ben Abu highlighted the club's track record of selling players to top European leagues, citing a 19-year-old player who received a nearly £20 million offer from the Premier League. He also provided updates on other players, including Roey Alkobi, Doron Leidner, and Liran Hazan, expressing optimism about their development and potential careers abroad.

Ben Abu mentioned that Sami Adam's loan move to Kryvbas in Ukraine fell through due to passport issues, and he remains with Hapoel Tel Aviv until at least January. He described Hazan as one of Israel's top prospects, unlikely to finish his career in Israel.
