Son Recounts Father's Final Act of Saving Him in Terror Attack

Yoav Shkaron delivered a deeply emotional eulogy for his father, Natanel Shkaron, who was killed in a terror attack at the Ein Riya spring in the Benjamin region just hours before Yom Kippur. Yoav, who was present during the attack and survived because his father warned him, spoke to family and friends at the funeral held at the Ali Zahav cemetery.

He recounted the dramatic moments of the attack, stating he couldn't recall his father's exact words but that the warning prompted his escape. "Dad, I want to say thank you for 16 years together," Yoav said. "Thank you that during the attack, when the terrorist entered, you shouted at me. I don't remember what you told me, and I ran. Thank you for giving me life."

Yoav also expressed gratitude for his own survival and sought to strengthen his family. "Thank God I survived. I want to tell the family that we will continue together and it will be okay," he stated.

In a particularly poignant moment, Yoav asked his father for forgiveness for anything he might have done that could have caused pain. The son's words made the eulogy one of the most difficult moments of the funeral, marking a son's farewell to the father who, he believes, saved his life in his final moments.
