Jewish Youth Smashes Window at Haifa Orthodox Church; Arrested
A Jewish youth attacked the St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Haifa last Sunday morning, smashing a window with a stone, according to Father Dimitrios Samra, priest of the Greek Orthodox parish. The youth reportedly entered the church dressed inappropriately, behaved disruptively, and was asked to leave. Minutes later, while worshippers were praying, he threw a stone, breaking a church window.
Father Samra immediately contacted the police. Upon his arrest, the youth claimed he felt threatened inside the church, which prompted his actions. However, Father Samra informed the police that surveillance cameras recorded the youth's behavior both inside and outside the church.
An indictment was filed against the youth last Saturday, Father Samra confirmed.
