A tragic car crash on the road to Talz Stone, on the eve of Shabbat Parashat Bamidbar, killed Mrs. Ayelet Davidson and her infant son and left the family devastated. The article says the accident became one of the most deeply felt tragedies in the Haredi public, and that people still remember it vividly.
Davidson was initially resuscitated and taken to the hospital for surgeries and treatment, but she died about a week later, shortly before Shavuot. She has now reached the 30-day memorial mark. The crash left behind five young orphans and a father who was badly injured. He later regained consciousness, can communicate, and is no longer in immediate danger, but he remains confined to a wheelchair and still needs additional surgeries.
Relatives describe a home under extreme strain. One family member said, “He will recover, that is clear. A terrible, double disaster fell on him, but he has no choice. He has young children, he is the only one left in their world, he understands the heavy burden on his shoulders, and he intends to fight like a lion to save his home.”
The children learned of their mother’s death after already being told their brother had been killed in the crash, while their father was still unconscious. Another relative said the older child stood at the funeral with unusual maturity, recited Kaddish, and tried to support his father, who sat beside him in a wheelchair. The family is now renewing its appeal for donations to cover the father’s rehabilitation, medical equipment, and day-to-day household expenses, warning that without help the family could collapse.
