Iran Claims US Preparing New Attacks, Threatens Regional Response

Iran's military has warned that the United States is preparing to launch new attacks against the Islamic Republic, allegedly with the backing of regional countries. The warning came from the "Khatam al-Anbiya" headquarters of the Iranian army on Sunday.

According to Iranian military intelligence, the US has decided to renew operations against Iran, receiving a "green light" from several unnamed regional states. This decision was reportedly made during a joint meeting in a European country. Iran vowed that any attack would be met with a response "without any limitations" against American bases and interests in the region, as well as against allied countries.

"We warn that if the US commits an act of aggression against Iran, all its bases in the region and all its interests there will be subject to continuous, effective, and painful attacks, without any limitation or reservation," the statement threatened. Iran also cautioned that regional countries supporting such aggression would be considered complicit and could no longer expect restraint from Iran's armed forces.

This development follows a US Embassy warning to American citizens in Israel about potential unexpected escalation in the Middle East. The embassy cited heightened tensions between Houthi rebels and Saudi Arabia, and the possibility of a wider conflict. The warning mentioned that Iran-backed Houthis have engaged in hostile actions against Saudi Arabia, including targeting civilian airports, and that the conflict could escalate rapidly.

The US Embassy also noted that American diplomatic missions and interests globally, including businesses and institutions, have been targets in the past and could be again, potentially by Iran and its proxies.
