Maccabi Tel Aviv Leads Israeli Football Championship After Fifth Round

The fifth round of the Israeli Football Championship has concluded, with Maccabi Tel Aviv maintaining their perfect record and leading the league. They are followed by Maccabi Haifa, who are three points behind, and Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Be'er Sheva, each five points adrift.

In other matches, Hapoel Jerusalem secured their second win, defeating Maccabi Petah Tikva 4-2. Twenty-year-old Nadim Warsana scored a hat-trick for Hapoel Jerusalem. Bnei Sakhnin achieved their first victory, beating Hapoel Ramat Gan 1-0 with a 61st-minute goal from Liray Ovusu.

Maccabi Haifa narrowly defeated Ironi Tiberias 3-2. Ironi Tiberias had led in the 63rd minute, with Kais Ghanem scoring twice for them. Maccabi Haifa's goals came from Andria Nosakovic (two goals) and a penalty by Kenji Gorre. Maccabi Netanya lost 1-2 to Maccabi Tel Aviv, with Dor Peretz scoring a penalty for Maccabi Tel Aviv and Oz Billel equalizing for Maccabi Netanya before James Tavernier missed a penalty for Maccabi Tel Aviv, though he later scored.
