Channel 13 Host Slams Netanyahu Over October 7th Failures
Channel 13 anchor and panelist Guy Golden criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on air Friday, stating that Netanyahu bears responsibility for the failures leading to the October 7th Hamas attacks.
Golden argued that while military and security officials like former IDF Intelligence Chief Aharon Haliva are accountable, Netanyahu and his associates are also culpable. He contrasted Netanyahu's perceived forward momentum since the war began with the inability of victims' families and the Israeli public to forget the atrocities.
"I feel for Haliva, for Herzi (Halevi), for Ronen Bar (Shin Bet chief) and so on," Golden said, "but whoever thinks all the responsibility lies only with Haliva and Herzi is making a grave mistake. Whoever is now going to absolve Netanyahu and others of responsibility is making a grave mistake, and this is a historical sin."
Golden warned that if Netanyahu is re-elected in the upcoming elections, it would be a "historical stain" on all of Israel. He expressed concern that focusing blame solely on military figures like Haliva, Herzi Halevi, and Ronen Bar, while absolving Netanyahu and his inner circle, is a dangerous historical error. He concluded that a return of the current government after October 28th would be a historical stain on all of Israeli society.
