Five-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured by Electric Scooter in Bnei Brak

A five-year-old girl sustained moderate injuries after being struck by an electric scooter on Hashnayim Street in Bnei Brak, shortly before the Sabbath concluded. Emergency medical teams from United Hatzalah responded to the scene, provided initial treatment, and transported her to Schneider Children's Medical Center in Petah Tikva.

According to a statement from United Hatzalah's central district, the child suffered head and limb injuries from the collision. Responders found her in moderate condition requiring urgent medical care. Shlomo Katzin and Eliyahu Tzarfati, Sabbath duty paramedics for United Hatzalah, reported that witnesses stated the girl was hit by an electric scooter and sustained head and limb injuries. They administered medical treatment and evacuated her by ambulance.

This incident adds to a series of child injuries reported in Bnei Brak and surrounding areas in recent months. Two weeks prior, a four-year-old girl was moderately injured after falling from a table on Rabbi Shach Street in Bnei Brak, hitting her head. About a week ago, a one-year-old infant was moderately injured when he fell from his stroller on Ezra Street due to a sudden stop on a bus.

Electric scooters have become a common mode of transportation in Bnei Brak and other Haredi cities in recent years. While offering convenience, they also pose significant safety risks. Rescue organizations advise riders to adhere to safety regulations, wear helmets, ride at appropriate speeds, and exercise extreme caution in crowded areas and near crosswalks.
