National Security Minister Ben-Gvir Reveals Past as Ofra Haza Fan
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir revealed a personal anecdote from his youth during an interview on the "Basalon Shel Sharon" podcast, sharing his admiration for the late singer Ofra Haza. Ben-Gvir recalled attending Haza's performances and even receiving a kiss from her at one show. He also sang lines from her songs during the interview, expressing a wish that she could see him perform now.
In a separate event, the chairman of the Otzma Yehudit party spoke at a "Shishi Tarbut" event in Rishon LeZion. Ben-Gvir hinted at his intention to keep the National Security Ministry for his party and suggested assigning the Justice Ministry to MK Tali Gottlieb. He also expressed concern about Ofer Winter's potential candidacy, specifically mentioning worry that Winter might run against Avigdor Lieberman.
When questioned about allegations that his office leaked video footage of a detainee, Agam Zarfati, from within a prison, Ben-Gvir did not deny his office's responsibility for the publication.
