Maccabi Israel Basketball Tournament Finals Set
The Maccabi Israel basketball tournament, featuring top youth teams from across the country, is culminating this weekend at the Maccabi Village in Ramat Gan. The boys' finals will see Maccabi Rishon LeZion face Maccabi Omer Rehovot, while the girls' final pits Maccabi Ra'anana against Noa Tel Aviv.
Eleven Maccabi clubs are participating in the tournament and training camp, which includes both U18 and U16 boys' and girls' teams. The boys' competition saw Maccabi Omer Rehovot win Group B and Maccabi Rishon LeZion top Group A. In the girls' division, Maccabi Ra'anana secured first place in their group, followed by Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The tournament, organized by Maccabi Israel in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Basketball Association, and the Women's Premier League, aims to develop Israel's future basketball talent. Participants are staying at a hotel within the Maccabi Village, engaging in professional and social activities.
The winning boys' and girls' teams will each receive advanced physical testing assessments valued at NIS 10,000, sponsored by Vertex. The tournament's most outstanding male and female players will be awarded NIS 300 gift vouchers from Energym for the Maccabi Market online store.
Liron Cohen, Maccabi Israel's deputy CEO and former captain of the Israeli national team, described the tournament as a "resounding success," expressing excitement at its return after being postponed in recent years due to the war. She highlighted the high professional standards and the collaborative atmosphere, emphasizing the event's role in fostering camaraderie among the "Maccabi Israel family."
