Hunter Biden Promotes Conspiracy Theory on Oct 7 Attack

Hunter Biden, son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, has promoted a conspiracy theory suggesting Israel intentionally allowed the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack to occur as a pretext for its subsequent actions in Gaza. Speaking to LBC in London, Biden claimed Israel "knew what was coming" and "let it happen" to advance a plan that would not otherwise have received "green light."

No evidence supports the allegations of deliberate Israeli complicity. Reports indicating political and security officials ignored warnings have not substantiated a plot to permit the massacre. Biden cited a controversial Haaretz report alleging the UAE's leader personally warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar's intentions. Biden accused Netanyahu of receiving the warning and taking "absolutely no action."

Netanyahu has denied the Haaretz report's claims and threatened to sue the newspaper. Biden also described the subsequent war in Gaza as "resembling genocide," while acknowledging the term is "loaded," and called Hamas "horrific."

Israel has rejected genocide allegations, stating it aimed to minimize civilian casualties in a war where Hamas used civilians as human shields and operated from civilian infrastructure. Biden has previously criticized Israel on podcasts, echoing claims circulated by anti-Israel activists that Israel allowed the October 7 massacre to justify its military campaign in Gaza.
