Dutch Christians Rally in Amsterdam to Show Support for Israel
Thousands of Dutch Christians gathered in central Amsterdam on Thursday, September 17, for a "Stand With Israel" rally. The demonstration of solidarity featured speeches from Chief Rabbi of the Netherlands Benjamin Jacobs and Chris Stoffer, a leader of the conservative Reformed Political Party (Staatkundig Gereformeerde Partij).
According to Dutch media reports, 45 pro-Palestinian activists were detained at the event. These activists had reportedly arrived despite a municipal ban on their demonstrations. On Dam Square, where the pro-Israel rally took place, some participants removed a Palestinian flag that had been hung on a nearby H&M building.
The counter-protest activity was reportedly moved to a location approximately 500 meters away from the main rally site.
