Hapoel Jerusalem Advances to Quarterfinals in Toto Cup
Hapoel Jerusalem secured a spot in the Toto Cup quarterfinals by defeating Hapoel Be'er Sheva 83-69. The Reds dominated the paint early in the game, establishing a quick double-digit lead. However, Lior Lubel of Be'er Sheva ignited a comeback in the first quarter, scoring 13 points including three three-pointers. Kenyi Lofton and Devonte' Kaycock also showcased strong performances for Jerusalem.
Hapoel Be'er Sheva struggled with turnovers, particularly in the second quarter, which allowed Jerusalem to extend their lead to as much as 11 points. Despite a poor shooting night from beyond the arc, Jerusalem capitalized on Be'er Sheva's turnovers, converting them into fast-break points. The team from the capital maintained their advantage through the final minutes, fending off Be'er Sheva's attempts to rally.
With this victory, Hapoel Jerusalem will face Bnei Herzliya in the quarterfinals. Hapoel Be'er Sheva will compete in a play-in round, aiming to also advance to the next stage of the competition.
