Ben Gvir Seeks Key Government Portfolios for Jewish Power Party

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, chairman of the "Otzma Yehudit" party, indicated his intentions to secure specific government ministries for his party in the next coalition. Speaking at a cultural event in Rishon LeZion on Friday, Ben Gvir suggested he wishes to retain the National Security portfolio, currently under his purview, though he did not explicitly state he would personally seek it. He also indicated that the Justice Ministry would be a target for the party's newest member, Tali Gottlieb.

Ben Gvir also addressed the potential candidacy of Ofer Winter in upcoming elections, expressing concern that Winter might align with Avigdor Lieberman's party, citing their reportedly close relationship. The minister did not deny accusations that his office was responsible for leaking a video of Agam Zarfati from within a prison.

Earlier reports mentioned that Tali Gottlieb would join Otzma Yehudit, with Ben Gvir stating she would be the party's number two candidate. The party is reportedly aiming for 15 Knesset seats.
