US Grants Visas to Iranian Delegation, Denies Them to Palestinians

The Trump administration is expected to grant entry visas to members of Iran's delegation to the United Nations General Assembly, led by President Hassan Rouhani. This decision will allow the Iranian delegation to attend the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York next week, where Rouhani is scheduled to deliver a speech. In contrast, the US has denied visas to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and other Palestinian officials, preventing them from attending the event for the second consecutive year. Consequently, the UN General Assembly, despite opposition from the US, Paraguay, and Israel, approved a Palestinian request to submit a pre-recorded message from Abbas. Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon stated that Abbas cannot expect the international community to ignore his policy of "paying money to terrorists and their families." Danon added that Abbas should change this policy instead of sending video messages.
