US Arrests North Carolina Man for Anti-Semitic Threats to Jewish Groups
Federal authorities in the United States have arrested Brian Charles, a resident of North Carolina, on suspicion of sending anti-Semitic threat letters to Jewish organizations and leaders. The targets included the Holocaust Memorial in Miami Beach and senior figures at the American Jewish Committee (AJC) and the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC.
According to the federal complaint, Charles sent letters containing murder threats to recipients in Florida and Washington D.C. during June and July. The FBI identified Charles, who has a prior conviction for similar offenses and has served prison time, through fingerprints found on one of the letters and return addresses on the envelopes.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the full extent of Charles's activities and any potential accomplices.
