Yam Madar Shines in Maccabi Tel Aviv's Super Cup Victory

Maccabi Tel Aviv kicked off their 2026-27 season with a decisive win over Hapoel Tel Aviv in the Social Super Cup on Thursday night. The victory provides a significant confidence boost as the team prepares for the EuroLeague season opener in one week.

Point guard Yam Madar, playing against his former team, was named the game's Most Valuable Player. He contributed 13 points, 7 assists, and had zero turnovers in his debut for Maccabi. Madar expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, especially considering it's early in the season.

"It was really, really fun. I think we played well for this stage of the season," Madar stated. He emphasized the importance of the win for the fans, acknowledging its significance given his past with Hapoel. "I was on the other side and I know the meaning. I'm happy we brought this to the fans."
