Ra'am opened a new branch in Kafr Manda last Thursday and used the event to signal that it wants to enter a future “change government” after the elections. Party leaders said participation in such a coalition would give Ra'am leverage over decision making and help advance the interests of Arab society in Israel.
The Arab Joint List party, known in Hebrew as Ra'am and representing the southern branch of the Islamic Movement in the Knesset, held the ceremony under the slogan “Kafr Manda toward greater influence.” The event was attended by party chairman MK Mansour Abbas, other Ra'am MKs including Iman Khatib Yasin and Yasser Hajerat, as well as local council head Ali Khadr Zidan and other public figures.
Speakers said the coming elections are a decisive turning point for Arab citizens, and that Ra'am aims to replace the Netanyahu, Ben Gvir government with a “change government” in which it would be a partner. They said the party wants to push solutions to the most pressing problems facing Arab communities, especially crime, housing shortages, recognition of unrecognized villages, and the transfer of budgets to Arab localities.
Ra'am representatives also urged attendees to support the party, arguing that a stronger Ra'am would mean greater ability to shape policy and deliver gains for Arab society.
