Yisrael Beiteinu MK Slams Party's Campaign Strategy

Oded Forer, a Member of Knesset for the Yisrael Beiteinu party, criticized the current campaign strategy, stating that Benny Gantz has been managing the campaign for the largest party for a month and a half, causing damage. Forer argued in an interview with 103FM that winning elections requires attracting votes from the "other side," and these voters are not necessarily looking for Gantz as prime minister. He suggested that Gantz's inexperience in politics and his pressure to be the largest party are inadvertently fueling Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's campaign.

Forer elaborated that instead of focusing on the government's failures, such as transferring funds to Hamas or the draft evasion law, the campaign is preoccupied with internal rankings. He believes this is precisely Netanyahu's desired narrative, as it distracts from the government's shortcomings. Forer reiterated party leader Avigdor Lieberman's consistent message that replacing the current government is the primary objective.

He emphasized that simply retaining previous voters will not lead to victory. To win, Forer explained, the party needs to attract voters disillusioned with the government's security policies and those who understand that Netanyahu has neglected security. He stressed that voters are concerned about issues like the draft law and core curriculum studies, not just party size.

Forer also addressed potential coalition partners, stating that Yisrael Beiteinu will not form a government with Netanyahu, the ultra-Orthodox parties Shas and United Torah Judaism, or Arab parties. He asserted that Lieberman has had numerous opportunities to join a Netanyahu-led government in the past and has consistently refused. Forer concluded by stating that the party's goal is to form the next government with a clear agenda and worldview, aligning with a liberal-right stance and a leader who accurately predicted Hamas's intentions.
