Bnei Brak Municipality Workers Clash With Management Over Pay Cuts

A heated confrontation erupted during a meeting of the Bnei Brak Municipality Workers' Union on Thursday, as employees voiced strong objections to proposed efficiency measures and budget cuts expected to negatively impact their salaries. The union had convened a special assembly for municipal workers to discuss new directives and austerity measures recently implemented by the city's management.

Video footage from the tense gathering showed the heated exchanges between employees and union representatives. Simultaneously, the municipality's director-general, Yisrael Eirnshtein, met with some employees, leading to a loud dispute. Workers raised concerns about the proposed cuts, specifically protesting potential reductions in their pay due to limitations on overtime work and restrictions on working on Fridays.

Employees are demanding that the efficiency measures apply equally to senior management and executives, not just to rank-and-file workers.
