Bennett Shares Video of Meeting With Fallen Battalion Commander Before Lebanon Entry
Former prime minister and Yachad party chairman Naftali Bennett released footage of a field meeting with Lt. Col. Dor Ben Shimhon, who was killed in the tank disaster over the weekend. Bennett said he met Ben Shimhon shortly before he and his soldiers entered deep into Lebanon, several weeks ago.
In the video and accompanying post, Bennett quoted the battalion commander saying, "We are battle foxes," and described him as "a beloved and good person." Bennett added, "We lost one of our very best sons. May his memory be blessed."
The post was shared after Ben Shimhon’s death in the tank incident, and Bennett framed the clip as a personal remembrance of the fallen commander and his final meeting with him before the Lebanon operation.
