Young Israeli Voters Prioritize Housing and Economy Over Security

A recent survey by the "Israel 2050" organization reveals that economic and social issues, particularly housing affordability, are the top priorities for young Israeli voters ahead of elections. National security, traditionally a dominant concern in Israeli politics, has significantly declined in importance for this demographic. Notably, respondents in southern Israel placed the ability to establish a stable future above security concerns.

The study found that 75% of young voters would consider supporting a political party they hadn't previously considered if it demonstrated a commitment to long-term solutions for pressing issues, with 19% willing to do so without reservation. Housing prices emerged as the most critical factor for 38% of participants, more than double the next most important issue. Young citizens gave the state a low score of 2.5 out of 10 for its handling of housing affordability.

Other key concerns included the education system (16%), the general situation of youth (13%), and transportation (8%). Security was cited as a top priority by only 4% of respondents. Politically, approximately 60% identified as right-wing or center-right, with only 7% identifying as left-wing.

Furthermore, only 21% of those surveyed believe current government policies are building a solid foundation for their future. Satisfaction levels across all examined areas were below 4 out of 10, with housing affordability receiving the lowest score at 2.5. This dissatisfaction stems from current conditions and doubts about the state's ability to ensure long-term economic and social well-being for young people.
