Icon Israel Instagram Page Acquired, New Editor-in-Chief Appointed

The popular Instagram page 'Icon Israel' (ICON) is embarking on a new chapter following its acquisition by Buzz Code Digital Media Ltd, a company co-owned by Avi Ben Tal and Shalom Assayag. As part of this transition, the new ownership has appointed Idan Zaken as the new editor-in-chief.

Zaken, 31, previously served as the digital content manager for 'Ha'Ach HaGadol' (The Big Brother) on Reshet 13. His career began at Maariv newspaper, where he later became the editor-in-chief of its entertainment section, TMI.

The acquisition of 100% of 'Icon Israel' from its founder, Yafit Fishler, who established the page 6.5 years ago, is seen by Buzz Code Digital Media as the launchpad for building an innovative media and digital group. The company plans to acquire and manage additional digital assets, aiming to become a significant player in the Israeli content and digital market.

Under the new ownership, 'Icon Israel' will undergo a rebranding process, with refreshed content and a substantial investment in quality, emphasizing high operational and ethical standards. The goal is to leverage the page's extensive reach and establish it as a leading, high-quality, and reliable content platform.

Upon his appointment, Zaken expressed his excitement, stating, 'Excited and happy to start a new path with Avi and Shalom at ICON, one of the dominant entertainment pages on social networks in Israel.'
