Accused Murderer's Lawyer Claims Prison Footage Leaked From Minister's Office

The defense attorney for Agam Zarfati, one of two women accused in the murder of Bneiahu Razi, alleged in court on Thursday that video footage of his client in prison was politically motivated and leaked from the office of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. Zarfati's lawyer, Roy Polit, told the Jerusalem District Court that the video, which has circulated recently, was released from Ben-Gvir's office and that he intends to file a civil lawsuit.

Polit also described harsh conditions during a recent search of Zarfati's detention cell, stating she was forced to the floor, dragged around in shorts, and filmed in a manner he compared to how terrorists are treated. He warned that if the treatment continues, "there will be no one left for Your Honor to judge," implying further violence against his client.

Zarfati and Shilat Huta are accused of murdering Bneiahu Razi following a dispute that allegedly began with domestic violence. According to the indictment, after an argument at an Airbnb where Razi and a friend were invited by Zarfati and Huta, the two women went to the home of Linoor Sasson, the mother of the main suspect, Aviour Sasson. There, they allegedly planned to "finish him off" and armed themselves with knives, a collapsible baton, a shiv, razor blades, and a metal hammer.

They then allegedly lured Razi and his friend back to the apartment, where they were attacked. Razi was stabbed in the chest and later died from a direct heart wound. Linor Sasson remains in custody, though the court has agreed to a welfare report to examine the possibility of alternative detention.

Seven individuals have been indicted in connection with Razi's murder, which reportedly stemmed from a conflict between Razi and Zarfati.
