Likud MK Compares October 7 to Yom Kippur War Failures

Member of Knesset Avihai Boaron of the Likud party expressed optimism about his party's prospects in the upcoming elections, despite current poll numbers. He stated that the Likud has not fallen below 30 Knesset seats since 2013 and predicted they would achieve this again, citing internal polls.

Boaron defended Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's leadership, asserting that Netanyahu is the best person to lead Israel through difficult times. When asked if the failures of October 7th were the greatest in Israel's history, Boaron responded, "I don't know if that was the greatest failure here. There was also the Yom Kippur War."

Addressing the potential political challenge posed by Ofer Winter, Boaron stated that internal Likud polls show Winter failing to pass the electoral threshold. He framed the political situation as a national concern for the right-wing bloc, emphasizing the need for unity to overcome the election threshold.

Boaron also commented on the performance of other right-wing parties, noting that polls suggest Bezalel Smotrich and Moshe Feiglin would pass the threshold together. He indicated that if these parties were at risk of not crossing the threshold, the Likud would encourage them to merge with other factions like Otzma Yehudit, but this is not currently happening.
