The IDF received an order to stop firing while its forces maintained operational control of one of Hezbollah’s key strongholds in southern Lebanon, the Ali Taher complex. The site is described as a fortified underground facility built with Iranian assistance and regarded as one of Hezbollah’s nerve centers in the area.
A senior IDF officer said there must be no withdrawal from the position, calling it a moral mission aimed at protecting residents of northern Israel. According to the military sources, the IDF now controls the area operationally.
The sources added that dozens of Hezbollah militants are trapped inside the Ali Taher complex and cannot leave. They believe this is one reason Hezbollah has intensified its fire in recent days, in an effort to ease pressure on its encircled fighters.
