Real Madrid issued a rare official denial on Saturday, saying it has not approached Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise despite widespread reports linking the 24-year-old Frenchman with a major summer move to the Spanish club.
In its statement, Madrid said it had “no direct or indirect contact” with Olise, his representatives, or anyone in his entourage. The club also emphasized its “excellent relationship” with Bayern Munich, describing the two sides as sharing a long history of mutual respect, cooperation, and appreciation.
Madrid added that it regretted the spread of speculation, saying the rumors “do not correspond to reality.” It noted that any interest in a player under contract to the other club is usually handled directly between the two teams, in line with the trust that has defined their relationship.
The denial follows a report last week in Marca claiming Madrid planned to submit a 220 million euro offer for Olise and that the France international, who is currently with the national team at the World Cup, was one of the club’s main summer targets. The report had fueled speculation that he could become Madrid’s marquee signing of the window.
