New Housing Complex Approved Near Haifa, Adding Over 1,000 Units

Israel's National Planning and Building Committee has approved the "Shapira" complex in Kiryat Yam, a city adjacent to Haifa. The plan aims to provide diverse housing solutions, establishing 1,171 new housing units, a significant increase from the current 257. The development will feature residential buildings of up to nine stories facing the sea, alongside towers reaching 35 stories. Approximately 30% of the new units will be small apartments.

The project spans about 35 dunams and is situated on the beachfront along Pinchas Sapir Boulevard. It will also include the construction of two new streets connecting existing ones and linking them to Sapir Boulevard. The complex is located near the municipal building.

In addition to housing, the plan incorporates a new school in the center of the complex, designed for optimal integration with the street network. Each residential block will also feature open public spaces for residents.

This approval follows another recently greenlit urban renewal project in the city's Yoseftal complex.
