Netanyahu Denounces Global Campaign Accusing Israel of War Crimes
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Sunday that there is a "false and absurd global campaign" aiming to portray Israel and the IDF as perpetrators of war crimes and persecutors of minorities. Speaking at the cornerstone-laying ceremony for a monument honoring Christian casualties, Netanyahu described the IDF as "the most moral army in the world."
He asserted that Israel is the only place in the Middle East where the Christian community is flourishing and growing, contrasting this with other locations where Christians are reportedly emigrating, persecuted, or being massacred. Netanyahu characterized Israel as an "island of progress, tolerance, and security" within a vast region he described as lacking compassion and acceptance, and filled with hostility.
The Prime Minister's remarks come amid ongoing international scrutiny of Israel's military actions, particularly in the context of the war in Gaza.
