Journalists Seeking Government Criticism Find Local Support for Minister Wasserlauf

Journalists Moriah Asraf and Yuval Segev of Channel 13 News traveled to the northern confrontation line ahead of elections, intending to gather criticism of the government from residents. However, their interviews yielded unexpected praise for Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf.

When asked if government officials had visited their town during the difficult months of fighting, resident Yossi Levit of Metula stated that Wasserlauf was the primary official who had come to offer support. Asraf noted to Segev that Wasserlauf's name was frequently mentioned.

Levit elaborated on the minister's contributions, emphasizing his frequent visits to the front lines and his support for the community. He remarked that Wasserlauf was one of the few who had done significant work in the area, adding, "First of all, he was with us. He would come, he would support us. In the first six months, no one agreed to come up here."
