Malaysia Seizes Israeli Goods Over 'Cruelty of Israeli Regime'

Malaysia has seized shipments of electric bicycles and weapons components manufactured by Israeli companies, citing the "cruelty of the Israeli regime" in its actions in Gaza. The seizure, which occurred at the Port Klang, involved goods from companies including Elbit Systems, a major defense contractor. The Malaysian government stated that the ban on Israeli-flagged ships entering its ports, imposed in December, was extended to include all goods originating from or destined for Israel.

This action follows a previous incident in March where Malaysia detained a ship suspected of transporting arms to Israel. The government has reiterated its commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and condemning what it terms Israeli aggression. The seized goods, valued at millions of dollars, are reportedly intended for a local distributor. The Malaysian Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, has been a vocal critic of Israel's military operations in Gaza, which he has described as a "massacre."
