European Parliament Group Backs Israel, Settlers, Signs Anti-Antisemitism Pact

Dozens of European Parliament members from the "Patriots for Europe" faction are participating in a special conference in Strasbourg today to express support for Israel and its settlements in Judea and Samaria, while opposing sanctions and boycotts against the country. The group plans to sign a declaration adopting the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's working definition of antisemitism and commemorating the Holocaust.

Organizers stated the event aims to send a message against measures and sanctions targeting Israel and the settlements in Judea and Samaria. "Patriots for Europe" is the third-largest faction in the European Parliament, comprising representatives from right-wing and nationalist parties across Europe.

Israeli Knesset Member Ariel Kallner, chairman of the Committee for Cooperation with the European Parliament, will attend the conference. Recorded speeches were sent by Samaria Regional Council Chairman Yossi Dagan and Michael Kleiner, president of the Likud party's court.

Kleiner criticized sanctions against Jews in Judea and Samaria, calling them "double standards, hypocrisy, and modern antisemitism" when directed at the "nation of the Bible that returned to the land of the Bible." Dagan asserted that Israel and its European partners are united against terrorism and what he termed "a war of delegitimization campaigns and a war of lies," adding, "We have the strength to win because we understand how critical this war is for the future of the entire world."
