Israeli Leaders Cite Rebbe's Political Teachings After New Book Launch

A new book, "Oseh Shalom," detailing the political philosophy of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, was launched at a ceremony in Kfar Chabad, Israel. The event was attended by rabbis, influencers, emissaries, government ministers, Knesset members, and senior security officials.

The book, authored by Rabbi Elisha Perl, focuses on the Rebbe's consistent stances on ceasefires, territorial concessions, deterrence, and the Jewish people's right to the Land of Israel. It highlights the Rebbe's decades-long assertion that any territorial compromise not based solely on security considerations invites further aggression, and that international promises and UN forces cannot replace genuine Israeli security presence.

Speakers at the event, including Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana and Justice Minister Yariv Levin, emphasized the Rebbe's foresight and the continued relevance of his teachings for Israel's security and national policy. "Today everyone knows that we should have adhered to the Rebbe's positions from the start and not been prisoners of a concept, until we woke up three years ago in the terrible massacre," stated Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi, referencing the October 7th attacks.

Ministers and lawmakers drew parallels between the Rebbe's past warnings and recent events, suggesting that adherence to his principles could have prevented current security challenges. The book's launch underscores a growing sentiment among some Israeli figures to re-examine national policy through the lens of the Rebbe's political and security doctrines.
