Israel Ranks Among World's Most Expensive for Dining Out

Switzerland leads the world in the cost of eating out, with an average meal at an inexpensive restaurant costing $30.54, according to data from the analytical platform Numbeo. Israel follows closely in second place, with an average cost of $26.29 for a similar meal, and Luxembourg ranks third at $25.39.

Several Scandinavian and Western European countries, including Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands, also feature high on the list, with prices consistently above $23 for a basic restaurant meal. This highlights significant global disparities in the cost of dining.

The report also illustrates differences in purchasing power. A $20 bill in the United States is sufficient for only one inexpensive meal, while the same amount could buy approximately three meals in Japan, nine in India, and nearly twelve in Bangladesh.

At the other end of the spectrum, countries like Bolivia ($1.73), Indonesia ($1.70), and Bangladesh ($1.63) offer the most affordable dining options, with meals costing less than two dollars. These destinations are particularly attractive for budget-conscious travelers.
