Dani Franco has signed with Polish club Śląsk Wrocław, taking his first coaching job outside Israel. The deal was announced on Friday, June 19, 2026, after he left Hapoel Holon following a poor half-season there. According to the club, he has signed through the summer of 2027.
Franco said joining the club, with its tradition and history, was both a commitment and a major challenge. “I believe that together with the amazing community around the team, we can create something extraordinary,” he said. He added that his goal is to build the best team possible, one that will fight for the fans and make everyone proud while aiming for the highest ambitions.
The coach also said he is eager to experience the atmosphere in the arena and to begin working. Śląsk Wrocław described him as one of the most respected coaches in Israeli basketball, noting that he has led major clubs in the Israeli league, including Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Tel Aviv and most recently Hapoel Holon.
In its announcement, the club praised Franco’s tactical preparation, team-building and player-development skills. It also said he has repeatedly shown an ability to overcome budget limits and compete successfully against clubs with much larger financial resources.
