Hostage Bar Kupferberg Recounts Miraculous Escape in Gaza

Bar Kupferberg, a former hostage held in Gaza, shared a dramatic account of what he described as a miracle that saved his life during his captivity. Speaking at a Selichot (penitential prayers) event in Netanya on Monday, Kupferberg recounted a moment when he was scheduled to be moved by his captors to a different safe house.

Kupferberg stated that he prayed intensely not to be moved to the new location. Shortly thereafter, the planned transfer was canceled. He later learned from one of his captors that the apartment building he was supposed to be moved to had been completely destroyed by an Israeli Air Force airstrike.

He described the experience as a moment where he felt his prayers were heard. "In that moment, I felt that God was listening and heard my prayers," Kupferberg shared. He believes the cancellation of his transfer prevented him from being in the building when it was struck.
